Greenbrier

Greenbrier is a beautiful, lesser-known area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, located just six miles east of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This heavily forested cove is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including vibrant wildflowers, lush hardwood forests, and crystal-clear streams One of the main attractions in Greenbrier is the Ramsey Cascades, the tallest waterfall in the park, which tumbles 105 feet into a boulder-filled pool. The hike to Ramsey Cascades is a challenging 8-mile roundtrip, but the stunning scenery along the way makes it well worth the effort Another popular trail is the Porters Creek Trail, which offers a more moderate hike and is especially beautiful in the spring when wildflowers blanket the forest floor.

The Greenbrier Picnic Area, located along the Little Pigeon River, provides a peaceful setting for a family outing, with tables and charcoal grills available. The river itself is a great place for fly fishing, with opportunities to catch rainbow trout and brook trout.
